Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- This submission does not contain any plagiarized material and abides by CJAE’s plagiarism policy.
- Any and all use of AI-assisted technologies in producing the submission has been disclosed in the cover letter, in line with CJAE’s artificial intelligence policy.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Submission Guidelines section.
- The submission files are in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format (please share video files via a link pasted on the submitted Word document).
- You will upload at least 4 files with your submission

-- All authors names in order along with their affiliations and ORCiD IDs (if applicable
-- Each author’s connection to autism (such as: Autistic adult, parent/guardian of an Autistic person, family [but not a parent of an Autistic person], professional, service provider, etc.)
-- Please indicate the corresponding author and provide their email address, if it is different that the person currently completing the submission. - A copy of your full submission, including an abstract of 100-200 words and no more than 5 keywords.
- A copy of your full submission, including an abstract of 100-200 words and no more than 5 keywords, with no author information in the uploaded file.

A cover letter that includes:
-- Disclosure of any AI-assisted technologies used in producing the submission including:
---- What AI technologies were used?
---- How were they used (including specific prompts)?
---- What was produced from the prompts that were used in your submission?
---- If no AI-assisted technologies were used in the creation of your submission, please include a sentence to that effect.
-- Disclosure of all conflicts of interest, including real, potential, and perceived conflicts of interest.

-- A statement that the submission contains no plagiarized material.
---- If you are reproducing material from other works, such as figures or images, please include an explanation as well as proof that you have the right to reproduce that material.

Copyright Notice
Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution License that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.
Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgement of its initial publication in this journal.
CJAE accepts articles that have not been published in any other journals/proceedings, unless copyright permission is assured, and have not been submitted for consideration to any other journals/proceedings at the time of submitting to the Canadian Journal of Autism Equity for consideration. While a paper is under consideration by CJAE, you agree not to submit the work to other journals/proceedings until review by CJAE is completed and a decision has been rendered.
It is the responsibility of the authors and co-authors to be aware of the journal’s policies and how they impact them and the publication process.
