Author Biography

Luisa Feline Freier, Universidad del Pacifico

Luisa Feline Freier is IDRC Research Chair on Migration and Forced Displacement in Latin America and the Caribbean and Associate Professor of the Academic Department of Social and Political Sciences at the Universidad del Pacífico (Lima, Peru). Her research focuses on migration and refugee laws and policies in Latin America, South–South migration, and Venezuelan displacement. She has published extensively in academic journals and international media outlets. Professor Freier has provided advice to various international institutions and organisations, such as Amnesty International, the IDRC, the IDB, the IOM, the UNHCR, the World Bank and the EU. She is a Senior Advisor for Migration Research and Publishing at IOM. Prof. Freier holds a PhD in Political Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
