Global Labour Journal: Announcements https://mulpress.mcmaster.ca/globallabour
The Global Labour Journal is an open-access, fully peer-reviewed online journal launched in January 2010. It is the official journal of the International Sociological Association’s Research Committee on Labour Movements (RC44). The Journal is co-hosted by the Global Labour University (GLU), and supported by the International Center for Development and Decent Work (ICDD) in Kassel, Germany, and the Center for Global Workers’ Rights (CGWR) at Penn State University in State College, USA.

The Journal serves as a forum to capture the plentiful and diverse scholarly work emerging on labour activities worldwide. It seeks to explore the role of globalisation in breaking down boundaries between the global/local and the public/private as they relate to labour activities.

Our aim is to provide a global forum for scholarly work on a comparative sociology of labour movements. Thus our intention is to understand, record and promote the transition of the labour movement into a new form of global unionism, and to highlight how labour activities are increasingly shaped by global forces.

Manuscripts may be submitted via this website. Should you have any questions about the suitability of your manuscript for consideration in the Global Labour Journal, or any difficulty in submitting online, please do not hesitate to contact the GLJ Managing Editor.

ISSN 1918-6711

CURRENT ISSUE: Vol. 13, No. 1 (2022)

 EDITORIAL TEAM

Editors

Maria Lorena Cook Cornell University
United States

Alexander Gallas
University of Kassel
Germany

Neethi P Indian Institute for Human Settlements India

Ben Scully
University of the Witwatersrand
South Africa

Managing Editor

Karin Pampallis
University of the Witwatersrand
South Africa

Reviews Editor

Omar Manky Bonilla
Universidad del Pacífico, Peru

Consulting Editor

Robert O'Brien
McMaster University
Canada

en-US Sun, 30 Jan 2022 17:35:25 +0000 OJS 3.3.0.7 http://blogs.law.harvard.edu/tech/rss 60 Call for Editorial Board Members https://mulpress.mcmaster.ca/globallabour/announcement/view/58
The Global Labour Journal is inviting recommendations for members of its Editorial Board.

The GLJ maintains a rotating membership of its Editorial Board. Members serve for two-year terms, renewable for a second term. We strive to make these appointments on a rolling basis so that there are always old and new members of the EB, to ensure continuity and retain institutional memory.

Duties of editors include screening new submissions, recommending reviewers’ names, making recommendations following receipt of reviewers’ reports and evaluating revised papers. Editors are also responsible for co-authoring occasional editorials, vetting Special Issue proposals, identifying topics and authors for Global Issues pieces, and discussing policy in conjunction with the Journal’s Governing Board. Monthly EB meetings take place via Zoom, during which any of these topics may be discussed.

Since the Journal’s founding, it has been committed to working as a South–North partnership. This is reflected in both the institutional affiliations of the Journal, as well as in the membership of the Editorial Board. As such, the Journal is especially interested in nominations of potential editors from the Global South and/or working in institutions in the Global South.

If you are interested in joining the Editorial Board, or if you would like to recommend someone, please send a brief motivation and CV to the Journal’s Managing Editor at globallabour@mcmaster.ca.
https://mulpress.mcmaster.ca/globallabour/announcement/view/58 Sun, 30 Jan 2022 17:35:25 +0000
