The superhero and the DJ: Science meets design

Résumé

This article describe several examples of art and design influencing industrial processes. In this hybrid work scientists and designers have been working together creating new materials development tools, through a process of Research, Development and Design (R&D&D) and Hierarchic Design. The process, which shortens time to market and allows tailored materials to be developed, is described and exemplified.
