Directives aux auteurs-es

This journal uses a double-blind review process. The editor will assess each submission for suitability for the journal. Papers deemed suitable are then sent to at least one independent expert reviewer to assess the scientific quality of the paper. The editor is responsible for the final decision to accept or reject articles. The editor's decision is final.

Each submission should contain two documents.

1. Document for Editors

This document includes three parts, which will not go to reviewers.

i. Title page: This piece should contain the full title of the article; a shorter, running title; the full names of each of the authors (not initials) and their affiliations (department, institution, city, and country); and the contact information of the corresponding author, including the mailing address, phone number, and email address. If the article is in French, the English title and running title should also be provided.

ii. Acknowledgements: This piece contains all the acknowledgements that the authors want to make. This document may also contain a statement that the content was approved by an ethics review board, that the consent of the participants was obtained, or that the study follows the recommendation of the Declaration of Helsinki. The acknowledgements must be provided separately from the manuscript as they may identify an author and affect the blind review.

iii. Conflict of Interest: This piece contains the perceived or real competing interests of the authors, such as any prior involvement in pharmaceutical studies and presentations. The conflict of interest must be provided separately from the manuscript as it will identify each author and affect the blind review.

2. Manuscript

This document contains the content of the article and is the only one that will be provided to the reviewers for assessment. Author names cannot be specified in the manuscript to ensure blind review. The manuscript contains the unstructured abstract, three to six keywords, and the article. Headings (e.g., Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion) should be used. Details of the sections depend on the type of article, which can be found below. Subheadings can also be used to help readability. Footnotes are discouraged; parenthetical statements are preferred. If the article is in French, an English abstract and keywords should also be provided.

REFERENCES

For crediting sources, the International Journal of Risk and Recovery follows the citation style of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, Seventh Edition. This style is used for in-text citations and reference lists. In-text citations should be given before the punctuation at the end of the clause or sentence.

ENSURING A BLIND REVIEW

The authors need to ensure that all personal information has been removed from the main manuscript file properties. Follow these steps.

Go to File
Select Info
Click on the Check for Issues button beside Inspect Document
Click on Inspect Document in the dropdown menu
In the Document Inspector dialogue box, ensure the checkbox for Document Properties and Personal Information is selected
If any issues are found, click the Remove All button
Click Close
Save the document

Microsoft Word for MacOS

Go to Tools
Click Protect Document
Select Remove personal information for this file on save
Click OK and save the file

Editorial

Please discuss your idea with the editor-in-chief before submitting and Editorial.

Original Article

This can be research or practice oriented. The length of the Original Article should not be more than 10 to 15 pages (2,500 to 3,750 words). There is no limit on the number of references.

Review

This is a meta-analysis or literature review. The length of Reviews should not be more than 10 to 15 pages long (2,500 to 3,750 words). There is no limitation on the number of references as long as they are relevant to the review. We encourage authors to use the (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) PRISMA Statement to present and analyze their data.

Case Reports

This is a brief description of an unusual case or case series. This needs to provide a critical comment or new information on the field explored by the case. The length of the Case Report is limited to eight to 10 pages (2,000 to 2,500 words).

Letter to the Editor

This is a short article to update readers about a situation or case that does not require extensive details. The length of the Letter to the Editor is limited to three pages (about 750 words) and up to 10 references. The letter should start with “Dear Editor.” Headings may be used if appropriate.

Jurisprudence

This provides readers with a short version of a recent legal evolution. It cannot exceed five pages (1,250 words) and 10 references. It must include three parts.

An Introduction that states the legal bases before the new law implementation or case law decision;
A Legal Evolution that describes the events and case law that led to the change; and
A Conclusion that describes the new bases and the expected outcomes in the future.

Comment

This is for authors who want to comment on a previously published article in this journal. It cannot exceed three pages (750 words) and 10 references. The content of the comments has to specifically address the points written in the article being referred to.
